Situated inKarainagar, Jaffna district, Casuarina beach is one of the many beaches in the Jaffna peninsula. It lies on the north Karaitivu island which is one of the largest islands in the peninsula which connects to the mainland by a causeway.The name is derived from the many Casuarina tree’s grown alongside the beach. Also called and written as Cashoorina, Casoorina and few other variants this beach is a truly unique one compared to many of the beaches around the island.

Named one of the best beaches in Jaffna it is unique due to certain factors such as the crystal-clear waters and the shallow beach where you could walk through the water for a few miles.
