The wetland is located in Battaramulla in the Southern province. A few kilometres away from the prime city, Colombo can be visited year-round. The spot brings out an exotic flora. The ground lay mainly in a wetland and matured by mangroves, marshes and ponds. Here, the sightseers can watch numerous species. Among them, birds get priority. Purple swamphen, little egrets, grey heron, shikra and pelican can be seen as birds. Those passionate about birding can visit a great many species of birds here. Furthermore, you can visit the areas with a few gatherings of water buffaloes, endemic dragonflies, reptiles etc.
